Access Florida Finance Corporation (AFFC) participates in Florida’s Black Business Loan Program (BBLP), which is designed to:
- Strengthen Florida’s economy by increasing the number of qualified black business enterprises, which in turn will increase competition in the marketplace and improve economically depressed neighborhoods;
- Increase employment opportunities for black Floridians, and the population in general;
- Provide role models and establish business networks to help Florida’s aspiring black entrepreneurs; and
- Increase access of Florida’s black businesses to both debt and equity capital.
As part of our organization’s efforts to fulfill our mission, we recognize that many of our borrowers may be considered high-risk to traditional lending institutions. Our loans are designed to help create, grow, or strengthen small businesses that may not be able to get financing assistance from other sources.
AFFC provides loans to black businesses that can’t obtain capital through banks or credit unions— but that could, if given the proper support, compete successfully in the private sector. We provide Florida’s small business owners with financing through the BBLP. More importantly, we give black businesses a chance to reach their goals and fulfill their potential.
You must have collateral and at least a 600 credit score with five lines of reportable credit in order to be eligible for consideration by AFFC. There can be no waivers on these basic requirements.
